Youth Group

Youth Group is taking what you learned during your Faith Formation years and put it into action.  The youth group is open to mature 8th graders and up.

We meet at Holy Spirit School on Wednesdays from 7:15pm to 8:30pm (Sept.-May), summer hours 7:00pm to 8:15pm (June-Aug.) Depending on our activities we may meet on alternate days and times.

We start our meetings with a prayer and ask our youth for their intentions.  We try to do adoration once a month with game night, reading and discussing upcoming Sunday readings, guest speakers, Life Teen Night, and movie night (with a moral theme) to fill the rest.  We make time for the youth to socialize.

We are self-supportive, and depend on fundraising from various sources: receiving 1 % from Econo, Super One and Ebeling receipts.  Some of our fundraisers are: a root beer/orange float sale during the 4th of July parade, with a can drive the following Saturday.  The end of August/September we do a lemonade stand.  Our larger undertakings are a "Hunters Bake Sale", breakfast, and providing food and drink during the City-Wide Rummage Sale, in which the profits go mainly to help the youth defray the cost to attend the "Steubenville" youth rally the end of July.

Some of our community project are: participating in the national "Soup Bowl of Caring" which is donated to our local St. Vincent de Paul store.  We have helped on some local Habit for Humanity projects.  For more information please contact Denice Westcott at youthgroup@norwaymi.com or call (906) 563-9834.
