Feeding America Mobile Food Pantry

Free food is distributed at 4 p.m. at the Crossroads Alliance church facility, 130 O’Dill Drive in Norway, home of Bethany Lutheran Church and Grace United Methodist Church. Those attending are asked to bring bags or containers for food, although some will be provided and available for those who need it.  This food distribution is supported by Bethany Lutheran, Evangelical Covenant, Grace United Methodist, Living Hope Community Bible Church, and St. Mary’ & St. Barbara Catholic Churches.

“Feeding America” is bringing the mobile food pantry to the area from the West Michigan Food Bank near Grand Rapids, Mich. It operates a network of food banks and is the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity.

Anyone who needs food assistance is welcome to come and receive produce and groceries that have been made available by donations and partnerships from people and corporations that share the goal of solving the problem of hunger in America.  Income verification is not needed, however, participants will be asked to sign a registry that says they have received food and fall within the income guidelines.

Volunteers are needed from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. to unload the truck, repackage the food and distribute it to our guests. Call Pastor Irene White at the Grace United Methodist Church office for any questions or willingness to help with the distribution at 906-563-8917.
