Free food (drive through event) is distributed at 3 p.m. at Crossroads Alliance (home of Grace Methodist and Bethany Lutheran Churches),130 O’Dill Drive in Norway, 906-563-8917. Those attending are asked to bring bags or containers for food, although some will be provided and available for those who need it.  This food distribution is supported by Bethany Lutheran Church, Community Bible Chapel, Evengelical Covenant Church Faithorn, United Methodist Church, Grace Methodist of Norway and St. Mary’ & St. Barbara Catholic Churches.  Also funded in part by Dickinson County Community Foundation Hunger Fund  facebook.com/FORGOODFOREVER

“Feeding America” is bringing the mobile food pantry to the area from the West Michigan Food Bank near Grand Rapids, Mich. It operates a network of food banks and is the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity.

Anyone who needs food assistance is welcome to come and receive produce and groceries that have been made available by donations and partnerships from people and corporations that share the goal of solving the problem of hunger in America.  Income verification is not needed, however, participants will be asked to sign a registry that says they have received food and fall within the income guidelines.

Volunteers are needed from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. to unload the truck, repackage the food and distribute it to our guests.
